March 18 Live Oak Springs to Brawley 70 miles

Couldn't wait to get out of Live Oak Springs! Here I am at the summit just a couple of miles away from where we camped, it was cold that morning.

The running fence between Mexico and USA
Blankets of wildflowers, so spectacular!

Border Patrol

This building marks the start of our 10 mile, hoo woo decent on Hiway 10 with the semi's & RV'ers!

The view from the top - the little grey line in the background is the freeway that we are decending on. Big banking curves with up to 7% grade, it was such a great reward for all the climbing we did the 2 days before!

Barbara and Paul at the start of the decent.

At the bottom of the decent we enter the Yuha Desert.

More spectacular wildflowers!

Ever wonder where plaster is made???

At Plaster City of course! 20 miles outside of Brawley our destination for the day.

Quaint little town of Brawley...
Another gourmet dinner at camp - there was a walk to the ice cream shop later that evening. We tend to fall into bed at dark and try to read, but I tend to just nod off.
